beliefs Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:30-31.

Harvester Bible Church
is a church born out of a passion for the Word of God and the Great Commission.  In addition to our Statement of Faith, we also endorse the Affirmations and Denials of Together for the Gospel, and The Cambridge Declaration of the Alliance for Confessing Evangelicals

Harvester Bible Church is committed to keeping church simple, as it should be.  We focus on three basic areas: Head - Heart - Hands

HeadHEAD
HBC is serious about theology, which is, after all, simply the study or knowledge of God.  You can't believe in or trust what you don't know much about.  As Christians, we all should desire to know God and continually grow close to Him.  We do this by prayer and Bible Study.  HBC is Reformed; that is, we believe the doctrines of grace crystallized by the Reformation are some of the best summaries of the gospel message.  Scripture alone, faith alone, grace alone, Christ alone, and to the Glory of God alone.  These great doctrines take the focus away from man and put the focus where it should be - on God.  Light teaching makes light Christians.  Deep Bible teaching and gospel preaching confronts the issues of the real world and provides real substantive answers that we need everyday.

HeartHEART
HBC also desires to preach and teach and worship in Spirit and in truth.  Many churches have great theology but are dead, with no hint of the power of the Spirit.  On the other hand, other churches are full of life, but not true life since they have no theology or they preach a false gospel.  HBC wants to merge both great theology of the Reformation with the life and power of the Holy Spirit.  We believe a church can and should be both theologically deep and spiritually powerful in worship. Worship, though, is more than music; it is a way of life.  We not only want to know great doctrine and have a deep knowledge of God, His Word, and Salvation, but we want this deep down in our own hearts.  We not only want to know it, but we want to be it.  We desire to know God deeply and live in the power of the Spirit.

HandsHANDS
Not only do we want to be deep theologically, loving and studying the great doctrines of the Bible, and not only do we want to inculcate these in our own hearts so that we know and and be what the Word says, we also want to work this out.  We want to talk the talk, and walk the walk.  Our hands should be guided by our heads and our hearts as we serve our friends and neighbors with the love of God in Christ through the power of the Spirit.  This means receiving what the Lord has for us through His Word and through the sacraments on Sunday, so that we then may live out that grace the other six days.  We live out the grace of God through our callings and jobs, through our lives as students, neighbors, and friends.  We strive to help in some way those less fortunate than ourselves.  Our theology is the knowledge that builds our character which drives our actions in our everyday lives.
